Belfast Harbor, Maine

From My Sketchbook:
Some days seem easier than others when I am out looking for subjects to paint or draw, and here is an example; it isn’t an exceptional drawing, but it was fun to make.  I was out with my family for the afternoon as we passed through Belfast, on our way up to Bar Harbor.  We stopped to have a picnic in a park near the harbor.  As you may imagine, it was a pleasure to find this quiet and still pastoral setting, ready-made and composed of the boats, docks and vertical pilings, seemingly all arranged in the harbor.  I enjoyed my lunch and indulged in some time to record this memory of the visit there.
