From My Sketchbook:
This was my view each day when I came out in the morning from my bedroom, on my way to the kitchen for an early cup of coffee, which I would take out to the balcony to sit and sip quietly, while enjoying the amazing beauty of the landscape.
This is my friend Booker’s dining room, with its unobstructed view of the Caribbean, looking north out over the second floor balcony toward the harbor of Christiansted. It was from this balcony that I drew, “Booker’s View, Christiansted Harbor, St Croix,” a work that is found elsewhere in the Drawing section of this website. As you can imagine, I find it difficult to express how grand and wonderful the view is, and how beautiful his home is as well.
For anyone interested, Booker makes a fine cup of coffee and rents rooms from time to time. His property is up on a hillside within the Estate Le Grande Princess area, just a couple miles out from the city. You might want to look him up.
