The grounds of the campus have several small ecosystems, and this meadow area is one of them, where various species of insects and wild birds live, nest and thrive in this protected area from Spring through Fall. Winding through the middle of the meadow is this path from which birders and children on field trips from regional schools can observe and photograph the activities of the birds through the dense growth of tall grasses and wildflowers. There are no birds here at the moment apart from a few crows in the nearby trees, it is a slightly warm overcast afternoon with a light fog in the air. The meadow is a quiet and dormant setting, but still beautiful in this wintry cover.
